David Ovalle

David Ovalle is a Washington Post health reporter covering opioids and addiction. He joined The Post in February 2023. David previously spent two decades at the Miami Herald covering public safety, criminal justice, and natural disasters. A native of San Diego, he graduated from the University of Southern California in 2002.
