Miriam Wells
Impact Editor & Deputy Development Director
Miriam Wells is impact editor and deputy development director at the Examination. She was previously impact editor at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, a new role the organization created with a mandate to maximize the real world impact of investigative journalism. She has built a collaborative and creative approach that ensures public interest reporting connects with key audiences, equips affected communities and helps drive top-down and bottom-up change. She speaks regularly to newsrooms and conferences around the world about impact strategy and is always keen to hear from others interested in this area, inside and outside the journalism industry.
When not thinking about journalism's role in change, Miriam sings in a sea shanty choir, swims in the wild and goes to very noisy gigs. She speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese.
